Robotic Cell

The client required an interchangeable tooling to allow the processing of multiple models.

The tooling would allow a FANUC robot to weld multiple points in a X.

The mechanical design integrated a new tooling design, while ensuring the mechanical arrangement was suitable to the movements of a robot arm.

The automation and controls team integrated the robot’s logic with the new variant.

The robotic cell integrated the following technologies:

  • SMC pneumatic clamps
  • P+F sensors and cordsets
  • Allen Bradley PLC & HMI
  • FANUC robot
  • Miller MIG welder
