Seat Tester Tesla Model Y

The client required multiple stations to test a seat’s clock spring, while measuring effort, angular displacement and current.

Due to the seat’s size, the client provided a lift assist system, which required the station to be open from all sides.

LG AUTOMATION designed multiple stations, per seat model, to test each variant. The stations shared structure and CAPEX, so they shared most spare parts.

Safety scanners were selected to ensure the station remained open.

The station integrated DYTRAN load cells as well as POSITAL FRABA inclinometers, while reporting and analyzing their measurements in LabVIEW.

The seat was unlocked by using a SIEMENS servomotor, and while unlocked, the seat frame was moved by a large steel frame coupled to a second servomotor.
