Self Clinch Stud Press
- Requirements
The project required the insertion of studs inside a metal stamping part.
The metal part presented very loose tolerances and required the insertion of studs in multiple points, while ensuring low cost of the machine.
- Solution
LG AUTOMATION delivered a semi-automatic concept with a single stud inserter.
The operator would place the metal stamping part in different nests to allow a guiding tube and a press to insert the stud in each position.
- Results
The station was able to insert the stud in multiple positions, being assisted by the operator. It integrated technologies such as:
- TOX Persotechnik press.
- SEKI stud feeders.
- Allen Bradley PLC & HMI.
- Keyence Safety Light Curtains.
