Seat tester full backrest

The client required a station to test a seat’s back frame 2-way displacement (depth and height adjustment).

The station also required to measure angular displacement of the seat, as well as linear displacement of its H-Frame.

All tests also required simulating a loaded seat by applying weight to it during the test.

LG AUTOMATION designed a standalone station with adjustable parameters to redefine the valid range conditions of the unlocking and seat effort.

Several data acquisition components were proposed, such as inclinometers, accelerometers and load cells.

The station integrated RACE LAKE load cells as well as POSITAL FRABA inclinometers, while reporting and analyzing their measurements in LabVIEW.

The seat was unlocked by using a FESTO servomotor from the underside of the seat by leveraging THOMSON linear rails and KEYENCE contact displacement sensors (LVDT).
