Projection Stud Welding

The client required a station for welding a stud unto a sheet metal part.
The station required to be small in footprint while ensuring multiple product output per cycle.
- Solution
LG AUTOMATION designed welding cabin with two nests for simultaneous operation of multiple products.
This station used a moving tooling to position the product on the working position, a guiding tube slides into place to feed the stud into the tooling.

The station integrated the following technologies:
- WTC welding controllers.
- MILCO welding cylinders.
- SEKI stud feeders.
- Allen Bradley PLC & HMI.
- Keyence light safety curtains.
