Seat recliner mechanism tester
- Requirements
The client required a station to test a seat’s clocking spring, as well as inspect it and engrave it.
The station also required to measure the required effort to unlock the clock spring.
- Solution
LG AUTOMATION designed an index table to allow multiple processes to be executed on the same station.
The station performed the following functions:
- Visual inspection.
- Effort testing.
- Laser engraving.
Several data acquisition components were utilized, such as inclinometers, accelerometers and load cells.

- Siemens servo mechanisms.
- Siemens PLC & HMI.
- FUTEK load cells.
- National Instruments processors.
- Keyence laser marker.
