The client required a complete assembly line for the forming of a seatbelt.

The stations needed to handle multiple models, as well as follow strict guidelines and standards.

LG AUTOMATION designed new toolings for multiple stations to enable the production of new seatbelt variants.

Engineering proposed new tooling designs and prepared drawings and technical documentation to fabricate the station’s structure/CAPEX.

The assembly line allowed the following operations:

  • Seatbelt anchor sewing with Brother programmable sewing machine
  • Laser web cutting (Keyence laser cutter) to cut the seatbelt
  • Hydraulic pressing to assemble the seatbelt’s retractor (TOX Persotechnik Press)
